How long does it take for reflux pharyngitis to become cancerous?

Reflux pharyngitis is a common ENT disease, which is an inflammatory reaction with a very low chance of cancer and no definite time yet. Reflux pharyngitis is an inflammatory disease caused by the reflux of stomach contents into the throat, which irritates the pharyngeal mucosa. The disease usually presents with symptoms such as foreign body sensation in the throat, chronic or dry cough, hoarseness, and difficulty in breathing. Since this disease is an inflammatory lesion, it is almost never cancerous. If the patient has frequent reflux pharyngitis, cancer can be caused due to the patient’s throat mucosa being irritated by stomach acid for a long time, but the exact time of lesion is not consistent. Therefore, if a patient has the above symptoms, he or she needs to visit the ENT department in time for gastroscopy and laryngoscopy to assess the severity of the inflammatory reaction, as well as to improve the condition through oral medication and nebulization treatment. In addition, patients are advised to take a light diet in their daily life, avoid spicy and irritating foods, and receive timely treatment to avoid cancerous changes.
