Is hemolytic anemia a terminal disease?

Hemolytic anemia is not a terminal disease. It is explained in the following three aspects: basic concepts, causes and treatments. 1. Hemolytic anemia is a kind of anemia caused by the destruction of red blood cells and the shortening of their life span. 2. According to the cause of the disease, hemolytic anemia can be divided into anemia caused by abnormalities of the red blood cells themselves, such as hereditary spherocytosis, paroxysmal sleep hemoglobinuria, G-6-PD deficiency, and thalassemia, etc., and anemia caused by extracellular factors, such as autoimmune hemolytic anemia and disseminated intravascular coagulation. 3. Although there are many types of hemolytic anemia, no matter which type of hemolytic anemia, we should look for the cause of the disease and treat the cause. For example, patients with hereditary spherocytosis can be treated with splenectomy; patients with autoimmune hemolytic anemia can be treated with hormone (prednisone) or splenectomy. Warm reminder: hemolytic anemia is not a terminal disease, the patient should consult the doctor in a timely manner, further improve the relevant examination to clarify the cause of the disease and receive treatment under the guidance of the physician.
