Thyroid Stimulating Hormone Receptor Antibody 6.59 Is it serious?

Thyrotropin Receptor Antibody (TR-Ab), the upper limits of TR-Ab are 1.22 IU/L and 1.58 IU/L in healthy individuals and non-Graves’ disease patients with thyroid disease, respectively; the patient’s result of 6.59 IU/L is high and needs to be combined with thyroid function to determine if it is serious. If hyperthyroidism is present, it is a more serious condition. The presence of TR-Ab suggests that the patient’s hyperthyroidism is due to autoimmunity rather than toxic nodular goiter. A value of 6.59 IU/L is considered high and a common cause of hyperthyroidism, but the diagnosis cannot be made on the basis of this data alone and other laboratory tests are required. It is recommended that patients with abnormal values go to the hospital in time to avoid delaying their condition.
