Early symptoms of nasal cancer

Nasal cancer simply refers to malignant tumors occurring in the nose, including those occurring in the external nose, nasal cavity and sinuses, and the early symptoms of nasal cancer in different parts are different.

1.External nasal cancer: it is mostly skin cancer, with lower malignant degree, and patients are mostly middle-aged and elderly people above 40 years old. According to histopathological classification, external nasal cancer can be divided into basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, malignant melanoma, etc.

(1) Basal cell carcinoma: It mostly occurs on the nose and nasal tip, and its early manifestation is a small shiny nodule on the skin, then gradually grows and ulcers occur in the center, with scabs adhering to the surface of the ulcer and a small amount of bleeding when it falls off, without pain. Basal cell carcinoma is mostly caused by long-term exposure to ultraviolet rays, so it is necessary to pay attention to light shielding and protection in general and when the above-mentioned early symptoms appear, and seek medical consultation in time.

(2) Squamous cell carcinoma is less common: it often appears as small warts or superficial skin ulcers in the early stage, and gradually develops into ulcers with red buds as the base which are difficult to heal, with untidy edges, easy to bleed when touched, and more obvious pain.

2.Cancer of nasal cavity and sinus: When cancer occurs in nasal cavity, its early symptom is nasal congestion, mostly on one side, which is intermittent and progressive at first, and then may develop into persistent nasal congestion. However, because of the hidden location of sinus cancer, the early symptoms are not obvious, and nasal congestion and nasal bleeding are mostly its late symptoms.

In summary, early stage of external nasal cancer is mostly manifested as skin ulcers and bleeding; early stage of nasal cancer is mostly manifested as nasal congestion, nasal bleeding and pain.
