Is it common for bleeding to occur after menopause

A small amount of bleeding up to one year after menopause may be normal, but if there is bleeding after one year, it is abnormal and may be caused by various tumors.

Postmenopausal bleeding generally refers to vaginal bleeding that occurs one year or more after menopause, and women usually go through menopause around the age of 50. Within one year after menopause, irregular menstruation and a small amount of bleeding may be a normal phenomenon.

However, bleeding that occurs again, even in small amounts, one year after menopause should be noted. Various tumors such as uterine fibroids, cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, ovarian tumors and so on may cause postmenopausal bleeding, among which the more common causes are cervical cancer and endometrial cancer, for which one should be alert.

If bleeding occurs after menopause, patients should consult a doctor in time, undergo relevant examinations, and clarify the cause of the disease under the guidance of a professional doctor, and then carry out targeted treatment, so as to avoid delaying the condition.
