Generally, after gastroscopy biopsy, you can eat some warm water in about 2 hours, and you can eat some liquid food in about 4-6 hours, but it is not recommended to eat irritating and indigestible food for the time being, and you can usually eat normally in 1-2 days. After gastroscopy, some pathological biopsies are often needed for diagnosis, which will cause some damage to the gastric mucosa. However, the damage to the gastric mucosa is generally mild, because the biopsy obtained pathological tissue is generally not very large, and the gastric mucosa is repaired relatively quickly, which generally does not affect the diet too much. Because of the anesthetic effect of local anesthetic drugs on the throat, premature eating may cause choking and coughing, so it is not recommended to eat and drink within half an hour after gastroscopy, and above 2 hours you can drink some warm water, and in 4-6 hours you can eat some liquid food. In some patients, gastroscopy biopsy may cause gastrointestinal bleeding, vomiting blood, black stool, etc., which may temporarily prevent eating and require active hemostatic treatment.
