Treatments for gastric cancer in middle and late stages that can not eat include primary treatment, symptomatic treatment and dietary adjustment. 1. Treatment of primary disease: middle-stage stomach cancer can be removed by surgery, and if necessary, combined with radiotherapy for adjuvant treatment after surgery; advanced stomach cancer can be given palliative surgery, radiotherapy and other ways to shrink the tumor to alleviate the symptoms of the disease and promote the recovery of appetite of patients. 2. Symptomatic treatment: if nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy drugs prevent the patient from eating, ondansetron can be used as antiemetic treatment, and the time of eating should be avoided two hours before and after chemotherapy; if the patient really cannot eat and is accompanied by malnutrition, he/she can supplement nutrients with intranasal nutrition such as indwelling nasogastric feeding tube, or parenteral nutrition such as intravenous infusion of nutrient solution. 3. Dietary adjustment: Besides, try to choose food with compatible taste, light and easy to digest, which will help patients to eat. Patients who can’t eat in the middle and late stages of stomach cancer are recommended to go to the hospital for consultation and treatment under the guidance of doctors.
