What is the difference between hip pain and osteonecrosis of the femur?

The difference between hip bone (hip) pain and necrosis of the femoral head is that the former is a symptom while the latter is a disease, and the former may be one of the symptoms of the latter, but hip bone pain is not necessarily associated with necrosis of the femoral head. Hip bone pain may be a clinical symptom caused by factors such as fracture, bone tumor, muscle injury or fascial inflammation. Necrosis of the femoral head is a disease that can be caused by a fracture of the femoral neck, long-term use of hormones or alcohol. If there is no injury or fracture of the hip bone, there are no obvious abnormal signs in general imaging; if there is a fracture, bone breakage is visible in X or CT. There is no obvious abnormality in X or CT in the early stage of femoral head necrosis, and early signs of femoral head necrosis can be found in MRI examination of the hip joint. If the pain is caused by hip fracture, according to the degree of fracture to take the pelvic pocket or support fixation, serious cases need immobilization treatment. In the early stage of femoral head necrosis, rest and braking, physical therapy, oral medication such as Henggu Bone Healing Agent are needed, while in the late stage of femoral head necrosis, surgery is needed, such as femoral head replacement and total hip replacement. If the cause of hip pain is not clear, it is recommended to consult a doctor for a clear diagnosis and targeted treatment.
