Current indications and contraindications for thyroid ablation

  (1) Indications 1. benign thyroid tumor, single or multiple, or autonomous functional adenoma, with no important structures adjacent to the mass; 2. if the benign mass is adjacent to important structures, an appropriate amount of saline or 2% lidocaine solution can be injected into the interstitial space between the thyroid peritoneum and the surrounding tissues to form an isolation layer to prevent damage during ablation; 3. for patients with recurrent malignant thyroid tumor, it can achieve certain therapeutic effect while avoiding the risk of secondary surgery. 3. For patients with recurrent thyroid malignant tumor, it can achieve certain therapeutic effect and avoid the risk of secondary surgery; for patients with thyroid cancer who cannot tolerate open surgery. 4.Metastatic cancer of lymph nodes in the neck and recurrent metastatic cancer. For thyroid nodules adjacent to important structures, injection of appropriate amount of saline or 2% lidocaine solution into the interstitial space between the thyroid peritoneum and the surrounding tissues cannot form an isolation layer; 2. The ablation of thyroid nodules must be integrated and individualized, taking into account the condition, the patient’s wishes and the biological behavior of the tumor.
