Taking anti-inflammatory drugs, especially cephalosporin antibiotics, followed by drinking alcohol can easily cause a disulfiram-like reaction. Its main manifestations can be flushing, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, tachycardia, and gastrointestinal reactions. In severe cases, it can cause st segment changes and even acute heart disease, which can be life-threatening. Once this type of reaction occurs, stop drinking alcohol and stop taking antibiotics that produce this reaction immediately. If the symptoms are mild, they can be relieved by themselves. If the reaction is severe and cannot be relieved, send the patient to the hospital immediately for treatment, as the delay can be life-threatening.
