A Wechsler Intelligence Scale (WIS) score of 120 or above is considered to be an excellent level of intelligence.
The Wechsler Intelligence Scale can be divided into the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (for ages 16-74) and the Wechsler Children’s Intelligence Scale (for ages 6-16), which can be used to assess the presence or absence of mental retardation in both adults and children. The test consists of various parts such as knowledge, comprehension, arithmetic, similarity and picture filling.
Generally speaking, if the test score is between 90 and 109, it is considered normal intelligence, between 110 and 119, it is considered upper-middle intelligence, between 120 and 139, it is considered excellent intelligence, and greater than 140, it is considered very good.
Therefore, a Wechsler Intelligence Scale score of 120 is considered to be an excellent level of intelligence.
