“Ankylosing spondylitis suddenly cured itself” is not true.
Ankylosing spondylitis is a chronic disease that cannot be cured on its own, but through active and standardized treatment, it can be slowed down as much as possible and prevented from joint deformity and disability, and improve the quality of life of patients. Currently, ankylosing spondylitis is mainly treated with medication, and joint replacement or orthopedic surgery is needed to improve joint function.
Commonly used drugs for the treatment of ankylosing spondylitis include non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (etoricoxib, etc.), anti-rheumatic drugs (salicylazosulfapyridine, etc.), and biologics (adalimumab, etc.), and some patients may also be considered for local injection of glucocorticosteroids according to their condition. Patients should follow the doctor’s instructions for long-term standardized treatment to prevent the emergence of spinal ankylosis and other adverse prognosis.
It is recommended that patients with ankylosing spondylitis go to the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology of regular hospitals and receive standardized diagnosis and treatment under the guidance of doctors.
