How many years does dialysis with a neck tube last?

Neck cannulation for dialysis usually lasts about a month and is a temporary placement. In patients on dialysis for chronic renal failure, early intravenous cannulation is required, such as internal jugular vein cannulation and femoral vein cannulation. Femoral vein cannulation is usually available within a month and a half and is prone to infection and vascular embolism. If the patient is unable to undergo endovenous fistula, further subclavian deep vein cannulation can be performed, which is semi-permanent and usually lasts for about six months. For long-term dialysis patients, if the vascular condition is good, it is recommended to perform intravenous endovascular fistula, which can be used for more than ten years if it is well protected. Generally after dialysis, compression is needed to prevent bleeding or hematoma formation at the dialysis site, which is the patient’s second lifeline.
