Acupuncture and moxibustion of Qihai, Blood Sea, Diaphragm Yu, Spleen Yu, Foot Sanli, and Heart Yu can tonify Qi and Blood.
Sea of Qi: This point is 1.5 inches below the Shen Que point.
Blood Sea: this point is at the bulge of the medial femoral (inner thigh) muscle, 2 inches above the medial end of the patellar base.
Diaphragm Yu: the midpoint of the line connecting the two subscapular corners is the 7th thoracic vertebrae, under which there is a depression, which is 1.5 inches away from this point.
Spleen Yu: this point is under the spinous process of the 11th thoracic vertebra, about 1.5 inches from the spine.
Foot Sanli: this point is 3 inches below the eye of the outer knee, about 1 middle finger’s width from the anterior edge of the tibia.
Heart Yu: this point is under the spinous process of the 5th thoracic vertebra, about 1.5 inches from the spine.
Moxibustion qi sea, sea of blood, diaphragm Yu in order to replenish qi and blood; moxibustion spleen Yu, foot Sanli spleen and stomach can be funded by the source of qi and blood; heart blood, moxibustion of the back of the Yu point can nourish the heart blood.
It is important to note that moxibustion is appropriate for the skin to feel warm, usually moxibustion for 20-30 minutes. After moxibustion may appear skin burning pain, redness and other adverse reactions, it is recommended that adverse reactions to seek medical attention; extreme deficiency of qi and blood should not be moxibustion; pregnant women should be careful with moxibustion.
