When is the best time to take zinc supplements

Unlike other vitamins and trace elements, the best time recommended for zinc supplementation is between meals, that is, on an empty stomach, for its best bioavailability and absorption. Usually the best time to take zinc supplements is at any time of the day to help the body, but between meals during the day, i.e. between lunch and dinner, and between 3 and 4 p.m., for the best bioavailability to the body. This is because the bioavailability of zinc supplementation is relatively high on an empty stomach, with the caveat that it should not be done on an empty stomach in the presence of severe active ulcers, such as previous upper gastrointestinal bleeding, significant gastrointestinal discomfort, peptic ulcers or active duodenal ulcers. Except for the above mentioned patients, the rest can take zinc supplementation between meals for best absorption.
