Chinese Medicine Gout Diagnosis

Gout is characterized by wind-cold-dampness paralysis, wind-dampness-heat paralysis, qi and blood deficiency, and phlegm and stasis paralysis. 1. Wind-cold-dampness paralysis, the symptoms of which are mainly characterized by unfavorable flexion and extension of joints, swelling and pain, or gout stones and subcutaneous nodules. Among them, if the cold evil tends to prevail, it can be seen that the joints are cold and painful, and the pain will be reduced when it is warmed up. Qi and blood deficiency syndrome, mainly manifested as recurrent joint pain, sometimes mild, sometimes severe, not healed for a long time; may be accompanied by heel pain, lumbar and knee pain, palpitation and shortness of breath, fatigue, less color and other symptoms. The treatment is based on tonifying the liver and kidneys, replenishing qi and blood, activating collaterals to relieve pain, dispelling wind and removing dampness. The representative formula is Duo Wu Sheng Tang. 4. Phlegm and blood stasis paralysis obstruction syndrome, mainly manifested as prolonged and recurrent joint pain, sometimes mild and sometimes severe, and most of the joints are enlarged, purplish, unfavorable in flexion and extension, or even ankylosing and deformed, with many subcutaneous nodules. The main treatment method is to resolve phlegm and clear the channels, activate blood circulation and remove blood stasis. The prescription is mainly based on Er Chen Tang combined with Tao Hong Si Wu Tang plus subtractions.
