Are there highly differentiated bowel cancers?

Bowel cancer has a highly differentiated type.

Bowel cancer is cancer of epithelial origin in the large intestine. In highly differentiated type of bowel cancer, the morphology, size and structure of tumor cells, as well as the size and shape and number of nuclei, are not much different from those of normal intestinal cells, including adenocarcinoma and adenosquamous carcinoma.

1. Adenocarcinoma: tumor cells consist of adenocarcinoma cells, such as tubular adenocarcinoma, papillary adenocarcinoma, and imprinted cell carcinoma, etc. It is the most common type of highly differentiated bowel cancer.

2. Adenosquamous carcinoma: relatively rare, its tumor cells are composed of both adenocarcinoma and squamous carcinoma cells, and it mostly occurs in the lower part of rectum.

For highly differentiated bowel cancer, due to its high degree of differentiation, it is less malignant, and as long as it can be detected and treated at an early stage, the prognosis will be better in most cases. It is recommended to consult the doctor in time and treat it actively.
