What is the meaning of cancer puncture

Cancer puncture is the puncture biopsy of tumor in the body to clarify the diagnosis. When ultrasound or CT or MRI is done and an occupancy is found in the body, if it is highly suspected to be a malignant tumor, puncture biopsy may be needed. The biopsy tissue will be sent for pathological examination to confirm whether it is cancer or not, and if it is cancer, it depends on which type of cancer it is. Different pathological types of cancer have different chemotherapy regimens. Some types of tumors, such as lung adenocarcinoma with EGFR gene mutation, can also be treated with oral targeted drugs first, which are more effective than chemotherapy and have less side effects than chemotherapy.
