Will cancer be fine after 5 years of survival?

This is not the case in real life, because even if some tumor patients live for more than 5 years, there is still the possibility of recurrence later, for example, some breast cancers have the possibility of recurrence even if they survive for more than 5 years, or even more than 10 years. In fact, in many clinical work, we often find that breast cancer patients who have been postoperative for 7-8 years have developed bone pain in some parts of the body, and the examination reveals that it is breast cancer bone metastasis. So, when we say clinical five-year survival rate, it is a medical term. In clinical work, most of the cancer patients after 5 years of treatment, if they don’t recur, their chances of recurrence are significantly reduced and we call it clinical cure. However, a few patients are still at risk of recurrence after 5 years. In addition, when we do clinical research, we say how many patients will survive for 5 years by applying a certain treatment plan, and then we use this as a criterion to judge how effective this treatment plan is, called 5-year survival rate. At present, many tumor patients, even advanced tumor patients, can live for more than 5 years after scientific treatment, especially after using targeted therapy now. However, it does not mean that these tumor patients are completely cured after living more than 5 years. Even for early stage tumors, there is still a risk of recurrence after 5 years, and we still need regular review, only that the frequency of review is less than before.
