Is it necessary to do brain CT for medical examination?

There is no need to do brain CT in general routine physical examination program. Brain CT is mainly for checking whether there are organic lesions in the brain, such as brain infarction, brain hemorrhage, brain tumor, etc.. During routine physical examinations, patients are healthy and normal people, and most of them do not have these diseases. When there is a tendency of such diseases, patients must have clinical symptoms, such as cerebral infarction with numbness and weakness of the lateral limbs, and sometimes speech impairment and visual impairment. Cerebral hemorrhage is often characterized by sudden onset of severe headache, sometimes confusion, and is accompanied by numbness and weakness of the lateral limbs. In contrast, brain tumor has chronic progressive headache and some other signs of tumor, so it is necessary for such patients to have brain CT examination for clear diagnosis. Usually, it is necessary to complete blood tests and heart, liver, lung and kidney function tests during physical examination.
