Three remedies for insomnia and dreams

Clinical treatment of insomnia and hypersomnia needs to be considered in conjunction with the patient’s condition, physical fitness and other factors, and there is no such thing as “three medicines for insomnia and hypersomnia”. When treating insomnia, you can choose medicines that have the effect of calming and tranquilizing the mind (using medicines that are heavy in nature to stabilize the mind), such as lily of the valley, Shouwu vine, and sour jujube nut. 1. Lily: This medicine has the effects of nourishing yin and moistening the lungs (nourishing the lungs by replenishing the fluid in the lungs), and clearing the heart and tranquilizing the mind (tranquilizing the mind by getting rid of the irritating heat in the heart). It can be clinically used in the treatment of yin deficiency and dry cough, laborious cough and hemoptysis, deficiency vexation (vexation caused by deficiency heat in the body), palpitation, insomnia and excessive dreaming, and mental trance. The adverse effects of the drug is not clear. 2. Shouwu Teng: This drug has the effect of nourishing blood and tranquilizing the mind (stabilizing the mind and soothing the emotions by nourishing the blood), dispelling wind and clearing the channels (dispelling wind and clearing the channels). It can be clinically used in the treatment of insomnia, blood deficiency, body pain, skin itching and other conditions. 3. Sour Jujube Seed: This medicine has the effects of nourishing the heart and tonifying the liver, calming the heart and tranquilizing the mind, restraining sweat and generating body fluid. It can be used in the treatment of insomnia (void and restlessness, unable to sleep), palpitation and dreaming (palpitation and frequent dreaming), excessive sweating, thirst and other diseases. When using this medicine, it is recommended to eat a light diet and avoid spicy and stimulating food. Patients with insomnia are advised to go to regular hospitals for consultation and treatment under the guidance of professional physicians for evidence-based treatment.
