Can bladder cancer be passed on to the next generation or transmitted to others?

The answer is no. There is no very conclusive evidence that bladder cancer is passed from parents to children. In some families where several people develop bladder cancer at the same time, there may be differences in risk factors, such as smoking or environmental factors, among family members. Family members are susceptible to exposure to similar risk factors. What is clear is that most people with bladder cancer do not have a strong family history of bladder cancer.

Likewise, bladder cancer is not contagious. You can’t pass it on to your family or friends, and they won’t catch it from you. However, as mentioned, family members are susceptible to similar risk factors, such as smoking, environmental chemicals, etc.; therefore, their risk of developing bladder cancer from other sources is increased.
