Narcotic Drugs Terminology

Narcotic drugs are drugs that have an anesthetic effect on the central nervous system, and whose continuous use and abuse or irrational use tend to produce physical dependence and mental dependence, and are capable of addiction. Commonly used narcotic drugs include vinpocetine, acetyl-alpha-methyl fentanyl, vinpocetine, and so on. In accordance with the international anti-drug conventions, active psychotropic substances are categorized into narcotic drugs, psychotropic drugs, and other dependent drugs. In terms of natural properties, these substances are used rationally under strict management. They have some clinical therapeutic value and are called drugs. In terms of natural properties, if they are compulsively sought for unnatural needs, such substances lose their clinical therapeutic significance and are called drugs. The term drug is a relative concept, of course, there are still some due to their addictive properties of drugs, and therefore no longer used as a drug, it is only regarded as drugs. Narcotic drugs can be broadly categorized as: opioids, including opioids of natural origin and active ingredients derived from them; cocaine, coca base, etc.; cannabis, including various preparations of cannabis; and a number of synthetic preparations for clinical use.
