Please pay attention to atherosclerosis

Atherosclerosis is a common arterial disease, with a prevalence of 79.9% in people over 60 years of age There is a set of statistics: patients with atherosclerotic occlusive disease, the 5-year survival rate is only 72%; if the complication of cerebrovascular disease, the 5-year survival rate is only 69%; if the complication of cardiovascular disease, the 5-year survival rate is only 59%; then the survival rate of patients with diabetes is even lower. Therefore, this disease should be diagnosed and treated early. Of course, there are some cases, most of this disease is dealt with by the method of amputation, the general initial diagnosis of amputation rate is about 4%; if there is no timely treatment, the 5-year amputation rate is significantly higher, about 8% to 10%; if combined with diabetes, the amputation rate is even higher, about 30%. The incidence is somewhat higher in the elderly population. This disease can be caused by many factors, generally we clinically called the three high disease, hypertension, high blood pressure, high lipid, high blood sugar. The incidence of this disease is higher in men, with a ratio of about 6:1, and the incidence in people over 40 years of age accounts for about 1% to 2% of the population, and in people over 70 years of age, the incidence reaches 30%. In the United States, the prevalence of lower extremity atherosclerotic occlusive disease is about 2%-3% in people aged 40-50 years, and 15%-17% in people aged 55-70 years. With the development of atherosclerosis, plaque expansion and secondary thrombosis can cause arterial lumen narrowing and occlusion, resulting in chronic or acute ischemic symptoms in the limbs, called lower extremity atherosclerotic occlusive disease. It occurs in the femoral artery, iliac artery and lower abdominal aorta of the lower extremities. The prevalence of atherosclerosis is higher in Europe and the United States, with a prevalence of 10% in people over 70 years of age in the United States and a prevalence of 1% to 2% between the ages of 40 and 70, with 100,000 people receiving surgical treatment each year. In the 1950s and 1960s, there were very few cases of lower limb atherosclerosis occlusive disease in China, but with the increase of people’s living standard, coupled with the promotion of the use of non-invasive vascular examination, the trend of increasing the number of people with lower limb atherosclerosis occlusive disease year by year. There are 76 patients in 10,000 people. Lower extremity atherosclerotic occlusive disease has become a more common disease. What factors are associated with atherosclerotic occlusive disease? According to domestic and foreign research, the following factors are related to: 1, gender: more men than women, (6:1), more obvious under the age of 50 years old, after 50 years old gradually approach; 2, age: often occur in middle-aged and old people, (more than 45 years old); 3, smoking: related to long-term heavy smoking; 4, obesity and hyperlipidemia: is one of the important factors of atherosclerosis; 5, hypertension: the vascular damage caused by atherosclerosis 6, diabetes: can accelerate the process of atherosclerosis occlusion, while diabetic microangiopathy makes the condition more complicated; 7, there are: dietary habits, mental stress, genetic factors, etc.. However, even with multiple treatments, the disease still has about 5% amputation rate and mortality rate due to the following reasons: 1.Treatment is too late, and the best treatment opportunity has been lost by the time the patient is transferred to an experienced peripheral vascular specialist; 2.The disease is difficult to treat, especially in advanced stage patients, and there is no 100% cure rate at home and abroad, so early treatment is very important; 3.Life threatening due to serious complications; 4.Due to The disease treatment time is long, some patients “see the difference” can not adhere to the treatment; 5, can not be adjusted according to the requirements of the doctor: such as patients still a lot of smoking, some patients massage the affected limb caused by large area necrosis, some patients with hot water to wash the feet caused by large area necrosis, etc., so, timely and regular treatment, serious regular care is also very important.
