Hamstring pain on the back of the foot after exercise can be caused by strain factors such as too much time spent exercising and hard shoes, or it can be caused by pathologic factors such as ligament injuries and avulsion fractures. Treatment includes physical therapy, medication and surgery.
1. Strain factors: Exercise for too long and hard shoes will lead to repeated impacts on the soft tissues on the instep during exercise, and lactic acid buildup will lead to pain in the tendon on the instep. Patients first need to control the time of exercise; secondly, try to choose soft and hard moderate shoes, but also after exercise for hot water foot soak, massage, baking electricity and other ways to relieve.
2. Ligament injuries: incorrect posture may lead to ligament injuries on the instep with the above symptoms, acute patients need to brake the affected limb, ice and elevate the affected limb, and then change to hot compresses in the relief period; ligament tears need to be surgically repaired or reconstructed; you can also cooperate with the ibuprofen, meloxicam, and other medications to ease the pain.
3. Avulsion fracture: too much strength during exercise may lead to avulsion fracture of the talus causing the above symptoms. Patients with no free fracture are usually fixed with plaster; patients with free fracture need to be fixed with surgery.
If the patient’s symptoms are severe, or if the symptoms do not improve, the patient should go to the hospital for treatment. All of the above medications should be used under the guidance of a doctor, avoid self-medication.
