What does cutaneous anthrax look like?

Most of the patients with cutaneous anthrax are mainly characterized by anthrax carbuncle with black hard scabs, while a few cases without scabs are mainly characterized by large edema, as follows: 1. Anthrax carbuncle: at the beginning, the symptoms are not obvious or the lesion site appears nonspecific yellowish blisters, accompanied by swelling of the surrounding tissues; after that, the edema around the center of the lesion enlarges, groups of small blisters appear, and bloody necrosis appears in the center and then sinks; after that, the necrosis gradually collapses and becomes ulceration, and the bloody exudate forms the characteristic charcoal lump-like black hard crusts. 2. Massive edema: less common, such patients do not have characteristic lesions, the lesion site is dominated by massive edema, the edema is transparent, soft, and the color is pale and red. Edema centered on the lesion can spread rapidly, causing necrosis in the eyelids, neck, thighs and other loose tissues. If the above symptoms occur, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time, and early formal treatment.
