About iron deficiency anemia

Worldwide, tens of thousands of people suffer from iron deficiency anemia, especially in women. The cause stems from regular menstrual bleeding in women, especially those with heavy periods, and unbalanced dietary habits such as not eating meat or vitamin C deficiency. Patients with iron deficiency anemia need to consume more iron-rich foods including: meat, legumes, whole grains, liver and black pudding. Recent research at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology has proven that when iron deficiency anemia requires iron supplements, the prescribed dose should be maintained at once every 24 hours for iron to be effectively absorbed by the body. Large doses of iron supplements can be toxic to the body.
