The efficacy and effects of Jianqu

Jianqu, also known as Fanzhiqu, is made from more than 40 kinds of Chinese herbs, including Liu Shenqu, Houxiang, Mu Xiang, Bai Zhu, Hovenia, Qing Pi, Perilla, Thornbush, Qiang Wu, etc. It has the function of dispersing cold and relieving symptoms, moving Qi and inducing stagnation. It is suitable for people with food stagnation and external wind-cold. Among them, Liu Shen Qu is a yeast preparation which contains vitamin complex, enzymes, ergocalciferol, protein and fat, etc. It has the effect of promoting digestion and appetite. The other drugs have the effects of dispersing cold and relieving symptoms, moving Qi and inducing stagnation. Specific manifestations include fever, chills, absence of sweat, strong headache, pain, nasal congestion, clear runny nose, heavy cough, white phlegm, distension and pain in the abdomen and stomach due to excessive eating, little food, obstructed bowel movements, sticky and unpleasant mouth, and love of putrid food and odor.
