What is the first aid for convulsions?

Sudden convulsions of the body should first be considered to be caused by epilepsy, as epilepsy tends to cause muscle spasms all over the body, with convulsions and myotonic symptoms. If epilepsy is ruled out after relevant medical examinations, cardiac or cerebral diseases should be considered. First aid medication for epilepsy is usually based on sedative drugs, commonly used is Valium or Phenobarbital, usually can be injected intramuscularly Phenobarbital or intravenous injection of Valium, intravenous injection of Valium is more effective. If the seizure is persistent or recurrent, it can be maintained by intravenous infusion of drugs such as Dormantine and Finagan. If the epilepsy is caused by high fever, injection of antipyretic and analgesic drugs should be given to rapidly reduce heat treatment. If the epilepsy is caused by traumatic brain injury or cerebral hemorrhage causing increased cranial pressure, mannitol and tachycardia should be given to dehydrate and reduce cranial pressure. If the epilepsy is accompanied by respiratory and cardiac arrest, rescue medication such as epinephrine should be given.
