First aid for convulsions

Sudden convulsions of the body should first be considered to be caused by epilepsy, as epilepsy tends to cause muscle spasms all over the body, with convulsions and myotonic symptoms. If epilepsy is ruled out after relevant medical examinations, cardiac or cerebral diseases should be considered. First aid measures are as follows: first, make the patient lie down, relax, and reduce stimulation; second, turn the head sideways to avoid vomiting, which may lead to aspiration, thus causing respiratory distress and life-threatening injuries. If there is a resuscitation kit or rescue medication on the scene, you can inject intramuscularly or intravenously sedative drugs, commonly used drugs are diazepam or phenobarbital. If the patient suffers respiratory or cardiac arrest, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) should be given immediately, alternating between chest compressions and artificial respiration. If necessary, tracheal intubation should be performed as soon as possible, and rescue medications such as epinephrine should be applied.
