The roots of the same tooth are connected; the roots of different teeth are usually not connected.
1. A tooth consists of two parts in a general sense, one is the crown, which is exposed in the oral cavity and is directly visible; the other part is the root, which is buried in the alveolar bone and is not visible under normal circumstances, and needs to be examined by X-ray or extracted in order to observe its shape, and under normal circumstances, the roots of the same tooth are connected together.
2. In the case of a single tooth, there is no question of the roots being connected to each other; in the case of a multi-rooted tooth, the roots are normally connected through the root bifurcation structure, and the pulpal cavities are also connected to each other by this means; however, if a root fracture occurs as a result of a traumatic injury or other reasons, the continuity of the roots may be damaged. Teeth are arranged one by one in the alveolar bone, so under normal circumstances the roots of different teeth are not connected.
Tips: If the roots of multiple teeth are not connected to each other, there may be a longitudinal fracture, congenital fusion of teeth, etc., and you need to see a doctor as soon as possible.
