The power of persistence facilitates recovery from illness

In the clinic for more than ten years, I have seen many patients, some with good results, some with bad results, and some with different degrees of severity of the disease itself, and the very important factor is the perseverance of the individual and the persistence of the individual. I have several patients with excellent results after cerebral infarction resulting in hemiplegia, and I deeply felt the strong desire to get well in their hearts during my communication with them, and at the same time put them into action, and then they had their harvest.   Case 1, male, 80 years old, brainstem infarction, the muscle strength of the left upper limb at the onset was around level 3, the fine movement of the left hand was poor, the muscle strength of the left limb recovered to around level 4 when he was discharged half a month later, the detachment movement of the left hand was still poor, and he could not complete fine activities. After teaching him simple exercises, he went home and insisted on training very hard. Now his left hand has basically returned to normal and he can cook for his partner again. He is very happy. Case 2: Female, 58 years old, infarction in the basal ganglia area, discharged from the hospital with grade 3 muscle strength of the right upper limb, no separation movement of the upper limb, still common movement, and subluxation of the left shoulder joint, requiring a sling. She also insisted on exercising at home by herself, and when she came to the clinic for prescription 1 year later, she could already freely use her left hand to help put on and take off clothes, and her walking posture was normal, and she got up after 5:00 every day to insist on exercising. Case 3, male, 60 years old, basilar artery cusp syndrome, MRA suggests basilar artery occlusion, at the time of discharge the patient cried and laughed strongly, choked on water, had dysarthria, could not walk, every time he came to the clinic he needed to do wheelchair, he insisted on antiplatelet lipid regulating and stabilizing plaque treatment at the same time, he also insisted on exercise, now 2 years have passed, his mood is normal, he can go up and down stairs freely, he can take his old partner out on tricycle. There are many patients with poor rehabilitation effect, I think the reason is that they just beg others and forget themselves, rehabilitation training will have effect, but must be insisted from inside, I want to do it, not to ask me to do it, or not to move once the pain, so of course the effect is not good.
