Does intercoital neuralgia heal on its own?

Whether intercostal neuralgia will heal on its own depends on the cause of the intercostal neuralgia and cannot be generalized. If the intercostal neuralgia is caused by an occupancy in the spine or spinal cord, a tumor, inflammation, tuberculosis, or trauma, the intercostal neuralgia usually does not recover on its own without active treatment of the cause and removal of the lesion. If the intercostal neuralgia is caused by factors such as cold, emotions, or viral infections in daily life, the intercostal neuralgia can usually heal on its own after the unfavorable factors are removed, usually within a week, and no special treatment is necessary. Therefore, it is recommended that patients with intercoital neuralgia first go to a hospital neurologist to have the type of disease screened by a physician before proceeding to the next step of treatment. For patients with intercoital neuralgia, it is recommended to avoid strenuous exercise during the illness to effectively relieve pain, and to pay attention to dietary nutrition to improve immunity.
