How to regulate the lack of breath in speech

According to the 10th edition of Basic Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine, “Zhongqi” in the context of insufficient zongqi in speech (weak qi in the spleen and stomach) should be zongqi, which is related to breathing, speech, and vocalization. According to the TCM diagnosis and typing, insufficient zongqi in speech can be regulated by benefiting qi to nourish the heart and strengthening the spleen and qi. 1. Strengthening the spleen and promoting qi: Spleen and lung qi deficiency is characterized by coughing and wheezing after prolonged illness, sputum with a lot of thin and white sputum, chest tightness and shortness of breath, abdominal distension, loose stools, nausea (no appetite, reduced food intake), fatigue and weakness, low voice and lazy speech, white face, swelling of the face and feet, pale tongue with white moss, and a slow and weak pulse. Coughing and wheezing, abdominal distension, loose stools, dullness and fatigue are the clinical features. Clinical treatment is to strengthen the spleen and benefit the qi.
