What happened to the ear wax?

Ear wax is often caused by repeatedly digging into the ear, causing damage to the skin of the external ear canal, resulting in inflammation of the external ear canal, called otitis externa. In the case of otitis externa, it can be manifested as itching of the external ear canal, and digging when itching, which further damages the external ear canal and causes exudation and cerumen formation in the external ear canal, forming a vicious cycle in which the more you dig, the more you itch and the more you dig. Therefore, treatment is necessary. Usually, antibiotics such as cefprozil, hormones such as prednisone, and anti-allergy drugs such as levocetirizine are given for anti-inflammatory treatment as well as anti-allergy treatment to reduce exudation and ear digging and facilitate the healing of the external ear canal wound. If there is a large amount of purulent discharge in the external ear canal, 3% hydrogen peroxide can be used for cleaning.
