Ultrasound of the breast can detect tumors. Ultrasound can detect solid masses in the breast. Ultrasound can distinguish benign breast cysts and benign breast fibroadenomas. Breast cancer is mostly hypoechoic, a few are isoechoic, strongly echogenic or unevenly distributed, and clusters or punctate calcifications are visible within them, which are typical features of breast cancer. The longitudinal diameter of the tumor is larger than the transverse diameter. If the tumor invades Cooper’s ligament, it will cause displacement and interruption of the ligament; if metastasis occurs, the axillary and supraclavicular lymph nodes will be enlarged.
