Metronidazole tablets are antibiotics. They are mainly used to treat anti-anaerobic bacterial infections and are very effective. Metronidazole tablets are commonly used in gynecology to treat pelvic inflammatory disease as well as trichomoniasis and bacterial vaginitis. It is generally not allowed to be applied during pregnancy when bacterial vaginitis or trichomoniasis is present, especially during early pregnancy, because of the risk of congenital malformations of the fetus. Metronidazole tablets should be taken after meals when applied because it has certain gastrointestinal reactions, and antibiotics are not applied casually and should be followed as prescribed by the doctor.
