Can the pain behind the ear be cancer?

Pain behind the ear is not cancer. Pain behind the ear is commonly associated with postauricular lymphadenitis and postauricular neuralgia, because there is a richer nerve and more lymph nodes behind the ear, called postauricular lymph node group. When the body is stimulated by cold air, poor rest, viral infection and other factors, it can cause postauricular neuralgia and swollen and inflamed lymph nodes behind the ear. In this case, the patient may feel a pain behind the ear, a twitch-like pain or throbbing pain, and a lump behind the ear as large as a grain of rice or a bean, while the skin of the auricle is not visibly red or swollen in appearance. The disease can usually be cured in about a week by active rest and oral administration of busulfan anti-inflammatory oral solution or antiviral oral solution. In contrast, cancer of the ear is commonly seen in the middle ear, which usually manifests as bleeding from the external ear canal and hearing loss.
