How to treat serrated adenoma

Clinically, different treatment methods are generally adopted according to the size and location of serrated adenoma. First, for small-sized gastrointestinal serrated adenomas, if no bleeding, perforation, cancer and other symptoms occur, the adenoma can be removed completely by endoscopic mucosal debridement. It avoids the large trauma caused by surgery and can remove the lesion at the same time. Second, for larger gastrointestinal adenomas, too deep endoscopic resection may cause perforation of the gastrointestinal tract, and if the resection is too shallow, it may cause residual adenoma base. In this case, laparoscopic or open surgery is required to remove the adenoma and the surrounding intestinal canal and stomach wall. If necessary, regional lymph node dissection is performed to achieve complete removal of the adenoma.
