Orthopedic manipulation occupies an important position in the treatment of orthopedic injuries, especially in Chinese medicine, and is one of the four major treatment methods in orthopedic injuries (rehabilitation, fixation, drugs and functional exercise). It is easy to use and has significant therapeutic effects. Orthopaedic manipulation has a long history in China, especially in Tang Tao Ren’s “The Secret Formula for the Continuation of Immortal Injuries”, Yuan Yi Lin’s “The Formula for the Effectiveness of the World’s Doctors” and Qing Wu Qian’s “The Golden Book of Medicine – The Essentials of Orthopaedic Technique”, which elaborate on orthopaedic manipulation. After the founding of New China, Chinese orthopaedic techniques have been continuously promoted and have entered a new period of development. They studied the five methods of orthopedic treatment in “The Secret Recipe for the Continuation of the Injury” and the eight methods of orthopedic treatment in “The Golden Guide to Orthopedic Treatment”, combined with their own clinical experience and modern medical techniques, and concluded the ten methods of orthopedic treatment: hand touching the heart, pulling and stretching, rotation and rotation, flexion and extension and retraction, and angle folding.
