How to treat gluteal myoclonus

Gluteal myoclonus is a fibrous degeneration and contracture of the gluteal muscle and fascia caused by injection of the gluteal muscles, postoperative congenital hip dislocation, and infections, which leads to limitation of hip function and movement. It can be treated by taking drugs such as cefixime, massage, and surgery. 1. Gluteal intramuscular injection: nerve release and contracture band release can be chosen, and in most cases there is no need to expose the sciatic nerve. However, if the lesion is extensive, especially if it is combined with contracture of external rotator group or hip joint capsule, in order to prevent damage to the nerve, it needs to be treated by surgery, which can not only improve the symptoms such as restriction of running, but also prevent the weakness of hip extension after operation. 2. Postoperative congenital hip dislocation: due to the wide range of surgery and heavy tissue damage, it is easy to develop fibrous degeneration and cause contracture of the hip muscle after surgery. You can choose iliac crest incision, gluteal muscle starting point downward shifting surgery. You can also use hot compresses and local massage to alleviate the symptoms of activity limitation caused by gluteal muscle contracture. 3. Infection: Infection of the soft tissue of the hip can cause infection of the gluteal fascia, broad fascia and other tissues and necrosis of muscle fibers, forming fibrous scar tissue, and gluteus contracture, quadriceps contracture and other phenomena. The wound should be cleared in time, and broad-spectrum antibacterial drugs such as levofloxacin and cefixime should be selected for anti-infection treatment to stop the spread of the infection, so as not to aggravate the symptoms such as limitation of hip movement. Gluteal myoclonus requires targeted treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
