What is chronic eczema?

Eczema can be divided into acute, subacute and chronic according to the course of the disease, and generally the course of the disease more than 2 months can be called chronic. Because of recurrent episodes, scratching, rash exudation is significantly reduced compared to the acute phase, but hypertrophy is evident, itching is still intense, and the surface may have scratches or moss-like changes. Chronic eczema is often extended from acute and subacute, and can also show a chronic tendency from the beginning. Treatment remains focused on anti-allergic symptomatic relief. Because chronic eczema rash is often hypertrophic and dry, it is recommended to apply topically with a more moisturizing oil, such as medium to strong hormonal ointment, compound ketoconazole cream, halometasone cream, etc., a volume ratio and equal volume of erythromycin ointment mix, then add an appropriate amount of castor oil, mix into a thin paste, thickly coated in the affected area, the condition requires, plastic cling film can be used including half an hour to help drug absorption, commonly known as “sealing” treatment. At the same time, add anti-allergy drugs, it is recommended to combine 2-3 oral drugs, such as paracetamol + cetirizine tablets + loratadine tablets or doxepin + imipramine or cycloheximide + levocetirizine tablets + ibastine tablets. If the effect is not good, you can add Regulon polyglucoside or reaction stop, recurrent glycopyrrolate and other immune regulation, anti-inflammatory and anti-itch. Chronic eczema should pay attention to life management, pay attention to not use hot water to wash, less soap body wash, more rub body lotion to protect the skin barrier.
