The indications for laparoscopic cholecystectomy are as follows: 1. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is generally recommended for symptomatic gallbladder stones; 2. Some patients with gallbladder stones are asymptomatic, but stones larger than 2cm are also recommended for surgical removal of the gallbladder. This is because stones larger than 2-3cm have a 20-30 times higher chance of causing gallbladder cancer than normal people. So for this kind of patients who have no symptoms, but the stones are relatively large, it is also recommended to do laparoscopic cholecystectomy; 3, diabetic patients, in the case of good glycemic control, it is also recommended to do laparoscopic cholecystectomy; 4, older, poorer cardiorespiratory function, if the conditions allow, as early as possible, to do laparoscopic cholecystectomy. By the time the patient commits the disease, the physical condition is very poor, there is no way to carry out the operation; 5, if the patient has to go to a difficult area, such as geologists or ocean-going seamen, half a year without going home. If there are potential gallbladder stones, it is recommended to do laparoscopic cholecystectomy to prevent attacks during the trip or work, because it is not convenient to get medical treatment in remote areas; 6, gallbladder polyps, gallbladder tumors, if the polyp is larger than 1cm, it is recommended to do laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
