Principles of Eye Laser Surgery

Laser treatment for myopia is a relatively simple procedure that involves cutting the stromal or superficial layer of the cornea with an excimer laser or femtosecond laser. This procedure can change the radius of curvature or thickness of the cornea, thus changing the refractive state of the eye and correcting myopia. This procedure is now very common in ophthalmology, and the results of the procedure are relatively good, effectively improving the corrected visual acuity and achieving the goal of myopia correction. However, there are clear indications for this surgery, which generally require that the age is at least 18 years old and the myopia is stable for at least two years before treatment. In addition, there are requirements for the degree of myopia, which can generally be treated up to 1500 degrees of myopia, and if it exceeds this degree, it cannot be completely corrected.
