If the patient is not allergic to chicken, he or she can eat chicken. And just because you have hives doesn’t mean you can’t eat high-protein foods like chicken, pork, or beef. Patients who repeatedly get hives can eat normal foods like high protein foods, milk and vegetables, but they must be sure they have no allergies before eating them. If the patient is not particularly sure, he or she can go to a tertiary care dermatology department and be tested for allergens. At least a judgment can be made about whether or not there will be allergies to things or foods that are commonly touched around. Patients with recurrent allergies to hives should avoid foods like seafood, fish and shrimp.
