Clinical urticaria patients are treated with calcium supplements because calcium and vitamin C can reduce the vascular permeability of patients and can relieve the occurrence of local tissue edema due to increased vascular permeability. However, calcium and vitamin C are not the first or only medications needed to treat urticaria, but are usually used in conjunction with antihistamines. Patients with urticaria can choose calcium among oral medications, and for more severe cases of urticaria, calcium gluconate can be used in combination with intravenous medications. Calcium gluconate, loratadine, promethazine, and glucocorticoids can be used together to achieve good results in clinical practice.
