What is connective tissue disease?

Connective tissue disease is not a specific disease, but rather an umbrella term for a group of autoimmune diseases. Connective tissue disorders mainly refer to diseases with connective tissue involvement, such as systemic lupus erythematosus, desiccation syndrome, polymyositis/dermatomyositis, and rheumatoid arthritis rheumatoid arthritis, systemic sclerosis, antiphospholipid syndrome, aortitis major, polyarteritis nodosa, granulomatous polyangiitis, and so on. They usually share certain clinicopathologic and immunologic features, such as multisystem involvement of the skin, joints, muscles, and heart. The course of connective tissue disease is usually long and complex, accompanied by fever, joint pain and vasculitis, etc. The treatment of connective tissue disease is usually targeted under the guidance of professional doctors to control the progression of the disease by combining the individual’s condition with the cause of the disease. When the patient feels unwell, it is recommended to go to the hospital for examination and diagnosis in a timely manner to avoid delaying the condition.
