Ovarian ultrasound is divided into different examinations according to different groups of people. Married women who are sexually active choose transvaginal ultrasound, which requires no special preparation and can be done by avoiding menstruation. For young women who are not sexually active, transrectal ultrasound is recommended. Transrectal examination requires evacuation of the bowels with an open plug, and the ultrasound probe enters the rectal cavity to probe the ovaries and diagnose ovarian disease. There is also a way of transabdominal holding examination, which has minimal damage and no discomfort. It only requires the patient to hold her urine and feel a distinct urge to urinate to perform the examination, and is suitable for women who are unmarried and have no sexual life, but are not willing to undergo transrectal examination, such as pediatric patients can be examined in this way.
