What to do if you have a vaginal tear

Vaginal laceration is a laceration of the perineum and vagina due to various causes. For vaginal lacerations, the main treatment is surgery. Gauze compression in mild cases and anastomosis with absorbable thread can be used in severe cases. After surgery, rest in bed for 5-6 days, eat a light diet and avoid oily, cold, spicy and stimulating foods. Scrub the perineum after each bowel movement and apply antibiotics as appropriate to prevent infection. When the pain is severe, you can take appropriate pain medication. Remove the stitches 5-7 days after surgery, wash the vulva regularly to keep it clean and prevent infection. Keep the bowels open every day to prevent constipation. Prohibit sexual intercourse during the treatment period, wear cotton, loose, breathable underwear, and avoid tight, chemical fiber underwear.
