What causes children’s eyes to swell

Swollen eyes in children can be considered to be related to physiological and pathological factors, pathological factors such as bee stings, granuloma or kidney disease. 1. Physiological factors: when drinking too much water before going to bed, children due to the laxity of the tissues around the eyes, can be found in the morning when the eyelids are swollen; if the child has been crying for a long time, tears, the muscles around the eyes due to prolonged contraction, there may also be localized swelling. 2. Pathological factors (1) Bee stings: When children are stung by bees, the venomous glands that secrete bee toxin can release liquid with anatoxin and neurotoxin, which can cause localized itching and pain, and when stung on the face, eyelid edema can appear. (2) Eyelid edema: after the invasion of purulent bacteria into the eyelid glands, it can cause local redness, swelling, heat and pain, and conscious swelling of the eyelid, which can be accompanied by hard nodules. (3) Kidney disease: If acute glomerulonephritis occurs, which is mostly caused by the infection of hemolytic streptococcus B, most of the children have edema, which involves the face and eyelid area.
